Suspect Involved with Downtown Silver Spring Bank Robbery on the Run, Police Intensify their Search

Police are on the lookout for a person who robbed a Truist financial institution at gunpoint in downtown Silver Spring on Friday September 16, 2022, afternoon.

Around 12:30 p.m., officers from the Montgomery County Police Department responded to the financial institution in the 1100 block of Wayne Avenue after being notified that an armed theft had simply occurred.

An investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect entered the financial institution and approached an worker. The suspect displayed a black handgun and demanded cash. The worker handed over an undisclosed sum of money to the suspect who then left the financial institution.

The robber is described as a white male, between 50 and 60 years previous. He was final seen sporting black sun shades, a crimson baseball cap, a lightweight coloured polo shirt, beige pants and black/white footwear.

Police say he could also be armed with a black handgun. Photographs of the suspect from the surveillance footage in the financial institution is proven above. A reward of as much as $10,000 is being supplied for data that results in the arrest of the suspect.
