On September 17, 2021, a man in his 20s whose named isn’t mentioned was stabbed in broad daylight, around past 4 in High Street. The man suffered serious injuries from the stabbing, despite all efforts by the police, he sadly passed away.
This sad incident led to the launching of a thorough investigation which was made known by South Yorkshire Police who wrote the information on their Facebook page:
An investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed in Sheffield City Centre yesterday afternoon (17 September).
Police were called at around 4:30pm to reports that a man in his 20s was stabbed in High Street, suffering serious injuries.
Officers attended the scene and despite their best efforts and that of ambulance staff, the victim sadly died from his injuries at 5:15pm.
Officers arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Murphy said: “There is an increased police presence in Sheffield City Centre today as we continue our investigation. Officers remain at the scene and are carrying out additional patrols as they conduct their enquiries.

“We remain keen to hear from anyone who was in the city centre yesterday who might have witnessed what happened.
