BOWER FAMILY STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF NANCY BOWER

TORONTO – The Johnny Bower Foundation regrets to announce the passing of Nancy Bower, wife of the late Johnny Bower Thursday, in Mississauga, Ont. at the age of 96.
Born January 4, 1925 in Saskatoon, Sask., Nancy Bower was the backbone of the family.
Nancy ran the Bower household as while Johnny travelled nearly a third of the year as hockey player,coach and scout.
“Mom was our pillar,” said John Bower, Jr. “She was our cook, our chauffeur, our tutor. Her efforts allowed Dad to concentrate on his profession and be one of the greatest goaltenders in hockey history.
If there was a Hall of Fame category for mothers and hockey wives, she’s be in it!”
Nancy is survived by her two loving sisters Cynthia and Myrtle, three children, John Jr., Cindy and Barbara, her six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held for Mrs. Bower at a later date. In place of flowers, the Bower family asks
