Tributes To Melissa MacDonald

The last 24 hours have been extremely difficult and have left a gaping, everlasting hole in my heart.

Melissa MacDonald, big sister, one of my biggest supporters. I will always cherish my memories with you. You forcing me and Barry to play with your barbies, or that super cheesy bowling game for Nintendo you would always rent from the store, and the time Megan pulled the dresser down trying to watch us play it. Our 3 man synchronized swimming teams we would make in the pool at home and riding our bikes around like we were in Pacific Blue, that absolutely stupid bicycle cop show we only watched because it had people from Saved by The Bell in it. I will always remember the support you gave me to get through my university education and the guidance you gave me in growing as a parent to my boys.

Layla, you were filled with so much love, that love and your infamous grins and silly faces brightened every room you were in. Your enthusiasm for showing that love shined through in your creativity and your excessively loved filled birthday cards, and Christmas cards, and valentines cards, and just random cards that said how much you love everyone. I will always cherish memories of our tea parties where you served your pretend cakes and of you always making sure absolutely everyone got their real cake too. It saddens me to know that my boys, and the rest of the world will miss out on a lifetime of that love.

You both hold a special place in my heart. When I find the strength to piece it back together, I will make sure to use it to show Archie and Bo how much you loved them and how special their auntie and cousin were.

I love you forever. – Chad
