Lisa Abbrederis wrote: Hi all. I just received the email below regarding the passing of John Lagowski. No further information is available. Please say some prayers for John and his family. Please watch for his obituary.

“It is with a deep heart-felt sadness that I am writing to let you know that I learned on Tuesday of John’s passing. I know some of you are already aware of this. As both a classmate and friend, we all got to know John. He was–without a doubt–one of a kind. He will be missed. it was great to see John transition from a beer drinking buddy to a devoted father. No funeral plans have been announced but the preliminary discussions are to have something in WI. Please keep in mind his son Cole, who is currently a high school senior. John and Cole were extremely close and spent an immense amount of time together. As some of you may recall, the situation is even more tragic because Cole lost his mom about 2 years ago. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Please pass this along to anyone I may have missed.”

The GoFundMe page was created by Cordelia Coppleson to Support Cole Lagowski, LT Senior. It reads:

As many of you know, Cole Lagowski’s dad, John, died this week. In April of 2020, Cole’s lost his mother, Robin. This is an unfathomable series of events that has left this lovely boy, 10 days before Christmas, an orphan. Cole is a senior at LTHS and graduated from Gurrie Middle School. Cole was a standout defensive player on the LT football team until his football career ended with a torn ACL and meniscus. Cole had a successful surgery in October and has months of physical therapy ahead which he will now have to pay for. Cole has decided to stay at LT for the remainder of his school year to be with the teachers, friends and community he loves. Cole is living with an LTHS family who love him and are happy and lucky to have him. Cole does not have the luxury of a safety net from life insurance or other sources of funding. He is faced with decisions we would not wish on any kid. Cole is an amazing, strong and resilient young man and has an incredibly bright future ahead of him. We would like this Go Fund Me to help support Cole in the next steps of his education and future endeavors. Please show him that he is seen, supported and loved by this amazing community that is Lyons Township.
