David Zayas is a Puerto Rican actor, best known for his roles as Angel Batista on Showtime’s series Dexter, Osborne the cop in Rounders (1998), Enrique Morales on the HBO prison drama series Oz, Lou the bodega owner in Annie (2014) and Sal Maroni on Fox’s series Gotham.

David Zayas was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on August 15, 1962, and raised in The Bronx, New York. He is an actor and producer, David has featured in a lot of movies which includes; Skyline (2010), The Expendables (2010) and Dexter (2006).
David joined the Air Force after high school; later began a career as a police officer in New York City. He was also a member of the LAByrinth Theatre Company since its inception in 1992. In April 2008, performed in the studio’s production of The Little Flower of East Orange directed by Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He Won his first regular series role on the short-lived 2000 police drama The Beat, then moved on to more notable television parts on the HBO prison drama Oz and Showtime’s crime thriller Dexter.

At the age of 19, David Zayas joined the United State Air Force, he was a police officer for 15 years with the New York City Police Department.
He quickly grow as an actor following his experiences as a Police Officer for many years. He plays the role of a law enforcement officers in most of his movies. Zayas played a corrupt police officer in 16 Blocks (2006) and an NYPD officer in Michael Clayton (2007). He is featured in the independent film Shadowboxing (2010), which appeared on the film festival circuit. He appears in Sylvester Stallone’s feature film The Expendables (2010) and The Brothers Strause’s film Skyline (2010). In 2012, Zayas played Ernie Trask, a hotel super, in the twelfth episode of season 1 of Person of Interest.
In 1992, Zayas join the LAByrinth Theater Company a New York City-based traveling actors group. He branched out into television and film projects, and has diversified with guest roles in such popular television series such as New York Undercover, Person of Interest, and NYPD Blue.
