  1. Am too ill to attend at Gardens this morning in memory of Borry
Please extend to all his family, my wife and our sincere apologies and our deepest condolences
I have lived in Orange for over 46 years, and we both knew Borry for most of that period
We were both made Life Members of the Orange Waratah Sports Club in 1994 and, as President/Secretary of the Club for almost 23 years, well remember the contributions made by Borry toward the successful development of the Club.
I recall visiting him in Orange Hospital after a serious accident involving a cherry-picker on his orchard, after which he wasn’t expected to live, assisting him on his “new” orchard when he was “doing it a bit tough”, his involvement with the Farmer’s Market, and much much more.
I always found him a free thinker, an opportunistic, passionate and sincere individual
I vividly recall him saying on air, to a question as to whether or not he was “biting off more than he could chew”, “I bite off as much as I can – and chew like Hell”, something I have endeavoured to impress on those around me
He died as he lived – and we are all the worse off for his passing.
    Gone – but never forgotten
    John Payne
